My Favorite Skin Care Products

Happy Tuesday! It is finally starting to feel like spring in Michigan, and my skin is very grateful for that! It can be so dry in the winter months, I have to fight to keep my skin hydrated. Luckily, I have perfected my skin treatment over the years, and I thought that I would share my favorite skin care products, for both my face & body!

Beauty Essentials

Face Routine:

My favorite item EVER bought for my skin, is my Clarisonic Mia. I bought mine from Sephora, and  I have seen an incredible change in my complexion! It was a little pricy, but EXTREMELY worth it! I use this every day, usually only before bed. Sometimes I use it in the shower, or in the morning before I do my makeup, depending on my skin's needs. You can use any cleanser with it! $125
I have been using this face wash for over a year now, and I really love it. I rarely have issues with acne anymore, but this takes care of those random pop up pimples before they can get too out of control. $25

Mario Badescu Skin Care foaming facial cleanser
I love this facial cleanser. I bought it at Ulta when i ran out of my Murad cleanser. This works just as well, but I ran out of it quicker. I like to switch between the two cleansers, because they are both pretty gentle but very effective. $15

I bought this just last week at Target. The coolest part of this moisturizer, is that it adds a slight tan glow to your skin! I put this on before bed, and i like it so far! $15

I put this on before bed sometimes as well. I love Burts Bees! $8

This moisturizer is a little more expensive, but is lasts for a long time! I use this before putting on my makeup, because it hides pores, and smells heavenly! $35

I can't emphasize enough how much I LOVE LUSH. They have every beauty product you could think of, and they are completely natural & don't test on animals! They have amazing products for both men and women. I love their face masks. They make them fresh and they run from $6-$20.

My favorite mask from LUSH is their chocolate mask. It literally smells like chocolate, and I have to hold myself back from wanting to eat it! It feels great on your skin, and does a miracle on your complexion.

Body Routine:

I love having a flowery sent in the shower, and I love Philosophy, so this is the best of both worlds! $23

My favorite trick for moisturizing is using body oil! If you don't want to spend money on the more expensive oils, baby oil by johnson & johnson works just as well! $25

Bath bombs are my favorite thing to buy for a bubble bath. LUSH sells the coolest bath bombs, and they smell amazing! My favorite sent is twilight. I can't get enough! They turn your bath water into cool shades, some of them look like there is a  firework show in your tub! :) $5

Lush also carries a bath bomb that is covered in glitter. Need I say more?
I discover this brand over the summer at a cute local shop. They carry great products, and I love the smell of their lotion. I use this after getting out of the bath or shower, and it leaves my skin silky smooth and smelling fabulous! $20

Well, that sums up my current beauty favorites! I hope you enjoyed my list & I hope you have a chance to try some of my favorite skin care products out.
Have a wonderful week!

My Workout Essentials

Hello, Ladies! I want to share some of my workout essentials with you today. I have been trying to get into a better work out schedule for the past few months, and I have finally been doing a lot better this week! I think the easiest (and by far the most fun) part of working out is wearing cute, comfy clothes! I am someone who wears yoga pants on a regular basis, so having a legitimate reason for wearing them makes me very happy! :) I wanted to share some of my favorite stores for finding my workout needs…

Work Out Essentials

I was at Old Navy yesterday & found so many cute items in their athletic department! I bought a shirt recently from there, and I love it. The best part is the prices! Their athletic gear runs from $5-$30! So when you have a chance, check out an Old Navy near you, or go on their website, oldnavy.com.

I have the same shirt that Damsel in Dior is wearing here from Old Navy.
(I LOVE this picture, she is a great blogger.)

One great thing about spring, is that the weather is finally nice enough to spend time exercising outside! I went for a run yesterday outside and it was amazing being in the fresh air again. I bought my Nike running  shoes last fall, and I have loved them so much. They are a very bright neon, so I feel more comfortable wearing them in the spring with my other bright shades, rather than in the winter when I wear mostly black and gray to the gym.

Nike has great shoes, check out their website for more colorful shoes for your workout this spring! nike.com

I also love the slogans & quotes from Nike.

Happily Grey is another blogger that I follow, and she just so happens to love Nike too!

Another store where I buy a lot of my clothes for working out, is Victoria's Secret. They have really expanded their VSX Sport line, and so many of their yoga pants and bras are really comfortable! I also love their seamless panties, which are perfect for yoga pants. They carry water bottles, hair ties, gym bags and more accessories as well!

Atheta is another great store for work out gear. It's a little bit more expensive, but they have great clothes! I also shop at TJ Maxx and Marshalls for a lot of my work out essentials. They have so many brand names for amazing prices! I even bought a yoga mat and exercise ball there.

Don't forget to bring your iPhone and ear buds to the gym with you! I never forget my best music playlists to help make my workout more interesting.

Here is my current favorite song to workout to:
"I Will Never Let You Down"
by: Rita Ora

You also don't want to forget your water! I am obsessed with these BKR water bottles.
(You can find them when clicking on the photo. And while your on the site, check out the other adorable items! )

I truly hoped you enjoyed this post! Keep watching for more workout inspired posts from me, I will share my favorite exercise routines & my workout schedule very soon. :)

How To: Transition Your Wardrobe From Winter to Spring

It's April 1st! I can hardly believe that not only it's a new month, but that today marks my 1st month of blogging! I started March 1st, and I must say that I have loved every second of working on making Shop Jolie a blog that women everywhere can be inspired by. :) I thought today would be a good day to look at some ways you can start changing your winter wardrobe into your spring one! (YAY!)

I for one, am extremely psyched to get rid of my boots & big coats and put on flats & skirts again. It takes a few weeks for the weather to transition into shorts wearing weather.
So what should we wear in the meantime? The days can be so warm when the sun is shinning, but what do we wear at night when it gets chilly again? I have one word for you: Layering!
I love wearing a jean jacket, or a long sleeve blouse instead of a bulky sweater with jeans. And if you are going to wear a sweater, I suggest pairing it with a long skirt & a statement necklace. You don't want to put your sweaters away quite yet. I actually just bought a cute lavender sweater at ZARA last week, and I can't wait to wear it with shorts or a maxi skirt. (Pictures soon to come!)

Basically- the main tip I can give, is balance out your clothes. For example, either wear a light shirt with boyfriend jeans, or a jean jacket and long sleeve shirt with a shorter skirt. Another thing, put away your dark colors and bring out those pastels & brighter shades of pink! I am so sick of natural colors, such as black and brown taking over my wardrobe. However, if you do like wearing natural colors over bright ones, I suggest that you pick out some fun bright jewelry or pastel shoes! I love mixing a neutral color with subtle bright pops of color. Take a peek at some photos I found on Pinterest to help inspire some great spring looks! Happy Spring!

I hope you were inspired by this post! Please feel free to leave your feedback in the comment section below. I appreciate any words of advice, and I am always happy to answer questions!

What To Do On A Sunday Afternoon...

Sunday Fun Day

I thought I would just quickly share a few of my favorite things to do on a Sunday Afternoon! I have actually done all of the above at some point today. I just started watching the TV show "Suits" and I am already addicted. I adore both Gabriel Macht & Patrick Adams on the show, they are amazing actors, and they aren't too shabby to look at either. ;) I have also been in bed drinking coffee, listening to music, reading, and online shopping. (J.crew always has great sales!) Basically, I view Sunday as my lazy day of the week. I relax, rest & do my favorite things at home to get refreshed for the week ahead. I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday's! What are your favorite things to do over the weekend?

Much Love,

How To: Create a Beautiful Closet Space

Good afternoon ladies! I want to share my thoughts on closet spaces today & give some tips on keeping your clothes displayed in a visually appealing way. One of my favorite parts in my room is my closet. I was very fortunate to have my Dad build me a closet a few years ago. I designed it & laid out the plan I wanted, and he built it! I call it my Carrie Bradshaw closet. :) I think every girl out there knows exactly what I'm talking about when I say that we all dream of having a "Barbie Dream House" or "Carrie Closet." I watched all of the "Sex & the City" seasons a few years back, and as soon as I was introduced to Carrie's Closet, I was instantly inspired to create a space where I could display my clothes in a beautiful way!

I haven't always had the room that I have now to store my clothes. I lived in a college dorm room for a year and shared a closet with my roommate. The following year, I lived in a condo with a small walk in closet. And, last summer I lived in a tiny apartment in downtown Ann Arbor and I had to get creative with my closet space. Here are a few pictures...

My Closet in College.
I brought my wooden hangers from home to give my clothes a chic hanging space.

My Closet in the condo I lived in- a nice walk in, yet still a little cramped.
I still made sure to hang photo's to inspire me.

I had such a tiny closet in my bedroom, I ended up storing my vaccum in there, and put my clothes in my living room closet! I put a rug on the floor for my shoes, and kept pictures behind my clothes for an extra stylish touch.

Throughout the years, I have realized how important it is to keep your clothes in a beautiful space. You don't need to have a huge area, you can make the smallest of spaces look cute with a few simple touches. Here are some of my closet essentials…

Closet Space Essentials

And here are some photo's of my current closet space!

I love having all black frames, with black and white photo's hanging in my closet. You can buy frames at Target or Ikea for $1-10, and print your favorite pictures from Pinterest to fill the frames.

I love displaying my perfumes in old bottles, like the one on the left from Anthropologie.
My current favorite sent is 'Chocolate' by Zara. I like to display my fragrances on old vintage trays.
I love this gold one that I bought at a thrift store!

I also think it is really important to add your personal photo's to your space.
I love this one of my Grandma and I. Since she passed away just over a year ago, I like to keep her photo's around to remind me of her.

It's also a good idea to put a sent diffuser or a candle in your closet. It adds a lovely smell to your space, AND your clothes! I adore this one from Anthropologie.

Jewelry display's are also incredibly important.
Not only will it show off your bling in a pretty way- it also keeps it organized!
I usually use trays, like this one from Target, or I use vintage bowls from thrift stores.

I love keeping my shoes mixed with books & bags on shelves! I keep fashion books, and my favorite novels on my shelves to display alongside my accessories.

Your closet space is a wonderful area to get creative in!

I also enjoy mixing my nail polish and jewelry on trays in my closet.
Tip: Print off colorful pictures to add to the visual display.

Well, thats about it! As you can see, I am very passionate about keeping my closet space neat and organized. Make sure you take time to clean out the clothes you aren't wearing, and donate them or have a clothing exchange with your girlfriends! Now that it's officially spring, it's a perfect time to go through your wardrobe & take some time to make your closet space pretty!

I hope you were inspired by this post!
Feel free to leave comments, suggestions, and feedback! I would love to hear from you!
